Ontario Undefeated After Day 1 of the 2016 Canadian Wheelchair Rugby Championship

(Montreal, QC) – The Ontario Thunder and the Ontario Lightning created a storm on the first day of the 2016 Canadian Wheelchair Rugby Championship. Both teams went 2-0 in their divisions. Saskatchewan and Alberta B are also undefeated.

Team BC, the reigning champions, went 1-1 after being defeated 54-51 by Alberta. They will look to get a win against Ontario tomorrow.

The 2016 Canadian Wheelchair Rugby Championship features Canada’s best wheelchair rugby athletes, including national team stars like Zak Madell and Trevor Hirschfield. Action will continue tomorrow and Sunday at the Centre Pierre-Charbonneau. The gold medal game will take place Sunday at 2 pm.
