Montreal To Host the 2016 Canadian Wheelchair Rugby Championships

Eleven teams from seven provinces will compete in Montreal from May 27-29 at the 2016 Canadian Wheelchair Rugby Championships. The event will take place at the Centre Pierre-Charbonneau and will be hosted by Parasports Quebec. Admission is free.

Quebec will field both a Division 1 and a Division 2 team. The Division 1 team features current national team athletes Patrice Simard and Fabien Lavoie.

The 2016 Canadian Wheelchair Rugby Championships will be one of the last opportunities for Canadian fans to see wheelchair rugby in home soil before the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games. Though Canada has not yet announced its Rio team, all current national team members will be playing for their club teams.
