Wheelchair Sports Alberta, through its Bridging the Gap Program, will be offering free wheelchair rugby development sessions in Calgary starting this March. The sessions will be for new players, current players and veterans alike and will focus on skill development in a non-competitive and fun environment.
Participants will have a chance to work on ball and chair skills as well as other fundamentals related to the sport of wheelchair rugby. Every session will finish with a 30-minute scrimmage. All equipment, including sports wheelchairs, will be provided.
The first 3 sessions will take place at North Glenmore Park Community Centre in Calgary on the following dates:
Saturday, March 22nd (12:45-2:15 PM)
Saturday, April 19th (12:45-2:15 PM)
Saturday, May 10th (12:45-2:15 PM)
Additional dates will be added depending on interest.
This is an excellent opportunity for potential new players to be introduced to the sport, or for current players to further develop their skills. If you wish to attend any or all of these sessions, please RSVP to BTG Program Coordinator B.J. Engerdahl directly.
