Our first day of competition saw Team Canada register three wins in Melbourne’s Fierce Four Tournament versus New South Wales, and two teams from the state of Victoria. Prior to the start of the tournament, Team Canada spent two days acclimatizing and training at the famed Essendon Football Club. The weather here in Melbourne is not exactly summer temperatures – so far, a balmy 10-12 degrees Celsius most days with rain and wind -- but, spirits are high as we enjoy fantastic accommodations and food at the catered Quest Hotel Apartments.
Day 2 of the competition will see us take on the two most challenging clubs from Western Australia and Queensland. It is a challenging schedule of 12 games in 9 days. But, with three games completed we look forward to finishing this 7-game tournament and then moving onto the five international matches versus Team Australia. G’day from down under!
